Alex Karras In Kidney Failure

It was one of Hollywood’s biggest punches – when Mongo slugs a horse in the classic comedy “Blazing Saddles.” It was football player-turned-actor Alex Karras who threw that punch. Sadly, the former Lions All-Pro defensive lineman is in kidney failure and has been given only a few days to live. Lions president Tom Lewand says the franchise is deeply saddened to learn of Karras’ condition. Karras also starred in the 1980s sitcom “Webster.”
